Why don't I show up in search listings?

Not showing up in public searches? There could be several reasons...

Advisers often ask why they are not appearing in search listings, or why they are not appearing higher in the search results, so hopefully this article can help to explain this. 

If you do not appear in search listings at all, it is most likely to be due to the following: 

  • Starter Membership. You are currently on our starter membership, which means that you have a profile with VouchedFor but you have not selected a membership that allows you to show up as available for contact. To change this, please take a look at and select one of the membership levels.
  • Verified Membership. If you are on our verified membership and have reached your enquiry quota, you will no longer show up as available to contact in the search listings. This is great news as you are reaching a high volume of enquiries, we would recommend that you now upgrade to our Unlimited Membership to receive an unlimited volume of enquiries. 
  • You have paused your enquiries. You may have your enquiries paused, often advisers ask us why they are unavailable for contact and it is because they have forgotten to turn off the Pause Your Enquiries Facility to show that they are available again. To check this, please log in to the members' area, select the account tab on the far right and scroll to the bottom of the page where you can select to pause or make you profile available for contact again. 
  • There is an issue with your billing details. You may wish to check that the Direct Debit function has been set up correctly with your bank. 

Perhaps you do show up, but not where you would expect and this almost always comes down to number of reviews, recency of reviews and your location. Our algorithm takes many things into account but the two main things are distance and review count and review recency.

We recommend advisers to continually gather reviews, best practice is to invite every client to leave you a review on VouchedFor and to opt into annual feedback (where we will automatically invite each client to review you each year).
